How to use it
- Enter an amount.
- Choose whether it includes or excludes VAT.
- Choose the VAT rate that applies to your product.
How it works
Adding VAT: total = amount × (1 + rate). At 20%, £100 becomes £120.
Removing VAT: amount excluding VAT = total ÷ (1 + rate). At 20%, £120 contains £20 of VAT. A common mistake is taking 20% off the total, which gives £96 instead of £100.
